My family and friends call me “Cru.” Growing up, I loved drawing, writing, and all things collectible. I used to love going to Sanrio and begging my mom for pens, stationery, stickers, and anything else that caught my eye. I was an avid collector of stickers, unique erasers, pens and pencils, and Barbies.

I still get excited when I find new pens or pencils. I love collecting journals and other unique paper goods. My love language is receiving a bouquet of colorful pens or brand-new journals. Silly as it sounds, I find it so fun and exciting.

During the pandemic, I found myself coloring again. With long stretches of time when I was tired of watching TV or reorganizing my home, coloring became a relaxing, fun way to be creative again. As I explored different options, I realized that most of the books I found didn’t suit my style or represent my culture. In response, I began digitally designing books I could truly relate to—ones that adults wouldn’t be embarrassed to buy. I drew inspiration from my fondest memories and favorite hobbies, which led to my first book, “Let’s Bake.” The rest, as they say, is history.
